Join an intrepid company of 400 young singers, actors, dancers, musicians, designers and scientists from 20 Southwark schools on an incredible journey. Watch as Royal Festival Hall transforms into a giant spaceship travelling through the stars and beyond to discover the source of sounds emanating from a black hole.
Inspired by Brian Greene's telling of the Icarus story (performed on 3 - 4 July, including family performances), this show is the result of six months of creative work across Southwark, led by director Karen Gillingham, musical director Hannah Conway, composer and workshop director Eugene Skeef, scientist Dr Carolin Crawford, and designers Young Visions with production design by Matt Deely.
This Excellence in Southwark Children's project is led by Joe Rea and produced by Richard Mallett Arts Management in partnership with Southbank Centre Learning & Participation.
