Friday Tonic: The Science of Beatboxing

Enjoy a fascinating encounter between two of the UK's finest beatboxers - MC Zani and Gracious B - and Professor David M Howard, specialist in the analysis and synthesis of singing, speech and music, and featured in BBC4's The Voice. Specially invited by Southbank Centre Artist in Residence Shlomo, the two beatboxers perform live as part of the event.

21-year-old female beatboxer Gracious B's most recent achievements include two performances at E4 Udderbelly, collaborating with Shlomo in Boxed and in the children's theatre show The Lost Voice.

MC Zani, UK beatbox champion in 2008, has performed internationally and collaborated with the likes of Jay Sean, Foreign Beggars and Sean Paul, and - like Gracious - is an accomplished beatbox teacher.
